Decisions, Decisions... is the seventh episode of the third season in the Netflix series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. The episode was released on April 3, 2025.

Synopsis

It's time to pick a side. Brooklynn turns to old friends to help take Santos down. Meanwhile, a roadblock puts some of the others in serious danger.

Plot Summary

The Nublar Three and Brooklynn stare at each other in surprise and happiness from across the street before Brooklynn pulls the others into an alleyway to talk privately. Brooklynn is saddened to learn that Sammy and Kenji didn't come with them, but explains that Soyona Santos is selling her killer Atrociraptors and has put a hit on a journalist that has been following Brooklynn. Brooklynn can't be in two places at once, so she needs their help which they all immediately agree to give her.

Brooklynn warns the others that selling the assassin dinosaurs is just the first step: the Broker is primed to take over the entire underground dinosaur black market. Brooklynn's plan is to take down Santos' whole operation once and for all. The Broker is going to be handing off the Atrociraptors to her contact, Rainn Delacourt, at the black market. While it's a long shot, Ben thinks he knows someone who could help them. Brooklynn insists that she has to be at the black market when this goes down, pointing out that Santos is the person who tried to have her killed, but Darius tells her that Santos tried to have them killed too and Brooklynn is the only one who knows who the journalist is and where to find them. Brooklynn concedes, but tells the others that she has to go alone. If the Nublar Three are seen down in Santos' lair, it will not only blow her cover, but puts them in danger too, just like Davi. With no time to debate the plan, the group agrees that Brooklynn will stop the hit on Davi while Darius, Ben and Yaz will take down the Broker, promising to meet back up in the alley afterwards. Darius and Brooklynn wish each other luck using their old nicknames for each other before the group separates to stop the Broker once and for all.

In Italy, Kenji watches as Smoothie tries and fails to catch a butterfly while Kenji -- who sounds like an exasperated parent while dealing with the adorable baby dinosaur -- tries and fails to get him to go to the bathroom. Loading up Gia's car, Sammy can't believe that they're going home which Kenji agrees with, guessing that their friends are probably already in Malta. Sammy admits that she's not doing so well about her breakup with Yaz. Gia explains her plan for how to get Smoothie on the plane with them: a cat carrier and credentials for him to fly with them for "scientific reasons" and if that doesn't work, knitted cat ears as a disguise for the baby dinosaur. Nonna joins the group and Kenji reads aloud a letter that he had written to the old woman thanking her for the fun experience and all of the support that Nonna had given to him at a time when he needed it the most despite Kenji being a complete stranger. Kenji wants to be there for people like Gia's grandmother was for him and he promises to pay her kindness forward and he wraps up the letter by thanking her. Nonna hugs the young man and even fondly says goodbye to Smoothie, having grown to deeply care for the baby dinosaur despite her previous hatred of dinosaurs in general. With a final wave goodbye from Nonna, Gia, Kenji, Sammy and Smoothie depart.

On the road, Gia tells Sammy that it never gets easier to say goodbye to your partner and best friend, not knowing the next time that you'll get to see and hug them which Sammy agrees with. Gia figures that it's even worse for Sammy given the way things ended for her with Yaz, leaving Sammy not knowing what, if anything, the future holds for them. Gia guesses that Sammy is beside herself right now, noting that Gia doesn't know what she would do if she and Ben ever broke up. Seeing how sad Sammy is, Kenji breaks the tension by thrusting Smoothie between the two girls, imitating an air horn and rapping. Kenji succeeds in making them both laugh before he notices a van that's gone off of the road ahead of them. Pulling over, the three recognize it as the Biosyn containment van that had taken the Pyroraptor and Kenji worries that the feathered dinosaur is still inside. Sammy suggests that they should check out the van and make sure that the driver is alright, and Kenji agrees with her. While Sammy and Kenji go to check it out, Gia volunteers to take Smoothie to the bathroom.

Brooklynn searches through the catacombs for Davi, passing various chained up dinosaurs and finding the truck holding the Atrociraptor cages for transport to the sale. Brooklynn finally finds Davi who reveals that he had gotten a message, supposedly from her, asking him to meet up. Brooklynn instantly realizes that Davi has been set up, having never sent him such a message. Before they can flee, the Handler appears down a nearby corridor.

As the Handler stalks towards them, Brooklynn lies to her that Santos had changed her mind and called off the hit, but the Handler is undeterred, even when Brooklynn threatens to call Santos and get her involved. However, rather than trying to kill Davi, the Handler simply shoves him aside, knocking the journalist out when he hits his head, and focuses her attention on Brooklynn instead. Brooklynn tries to talk the woman down, pointing out that Santos will put a hit out on the Handler if she does this, but she refuses to stop.

Brooklynn flees through the catacombs, silently stalked by the Handler. Catching up, the Handler yanks off her prosthetic arm and flings it and Brooklynn to the ground before she runs away again. Brooklynn runs into a dead end and is pinned to the wall by the Handler, but finally gets her to back off by revealing that they have the same enemy and Brooklynn can help her to get her raptors back.

In the streets, Ben calls Barry Sembène, having gotten his phone number off of Dark Jurassic. Barry is surprised to find Ben calling him and the Nublar Three and Barry realize that they are each in Malta. Ben tells Barry that the Broker is planning a huge dinosaur sale at the black market that day and the group is currently heading there. However, Barry sends them his location and tells the Nublar Three to meet him there as soon as they can instead.

Sammy and Kenji discover that the van's front left tire is flat, but there are no tranquilizer darts or scratches so Kenji guesses that it could just be from going off of the road. Spotting the back door ajar, Kenji goes to check out the back while Sammy checks on the driver. Sammy discovers that there is no driver, the van is self-driving, and Kenji discovers that the back is empty as well, much to his relief. Sammy finds a tablet with information on various dinosaurs, including a Majungasaurus, Stygimoloch, Pteranodon, Parasaurolophus, Carnotaurus, and a Becklespinax.

Nearby, Smoothie draws Gia's attention to something in the trees. Backing up to her car, Gia is surprised by a Giant Locust on top of it which flies towards the van. Seeing it, Sammy guesses that the locust popped the van's tire and caused it to crash. As it flies away, the locust is suddenly grabbed and devoured by the Pyroraptor. While the dinosaur is distracted eating, Sammy and Kenji sneak into Gia's car and hide, but the noise of the doors closing and locking draws the Pyroraptor's attention. The Pyroraptor investigates the car, circling around it, banging its head against the window and jumping on top of it. However, after failing to detect the frightened occupants, the dinosaur leaves in the other direction. Gia realizes that the Pyroraptor is headed back to town and the three decide to go after it.

In the catacombs, Davi wakes up to find both Brooklynn and the Handler gone.
