Australopithecus (meaning "southern ape") is a genus of early hominin that lived during the Early Pliocene to the Early Pleistocene in what is now Africa. It is also the ancestor of Paranthropus, Kenyanthropus, and Homo. Many specimens belonging to Australopithecus are known.
A 2025 study in fossilized teeth revealed that Australopithecus was almost entirely vegetarian.
Jurassic Park Institute
Australopithecus is mentioned in the description of man in the Dinopedia section of Jurassic Park Institute.[1] This is its only appearance in the Jurassic Park franchise. However, it is misspelled as "Australopithicus".
